PHEWF DAH!! Its been a busy 6 months. My last baby bird graduated and moved on to college, we sold our house in Northfield, MN. We packed everything up (ugh) and squeezed it into my NEW life in Menomonie WI. Neil helped me haul boxes and boxes UP into the new studio which is located in downtown Historic Menomonie WI with a view of the Mabel Tainter Theater and beautiful Lake Menomen. Its a dream come true for a painter. Meanwhile, we remodeled our home and planned a wedding and got hitched right in the yard. Aaaaaah I love this life! My third day in the new studio. There is so much space! In SIX days I will be delivering new paintings and setting up for the SOGN VALLEY CRAFT FAIR. If you haven't experienced this art fair…it needs to be on your bucket list. A peek at some of the new stuff I"ve been working on. Hope to see you there!
Sogn Valley Craft Fair is a Minnesota tradition; 2014 marks our 42nd year bringing fine crafts, art, and local and artisinal foods to a beautiful country setting. Mark your calenders! Date for Sogn ValleyCraft Fair for 2014: Saturday, October 4th, 10 am- 5 pm Sunday, October 5th, 10 am-4 pm Sogn Valley Craft Fair is special. The Fair is located on an idyllic private farmstead in Minnesota's Sogn Valley southeast of the Twin Cities. The landscape is rolling hills, farmland, forests and small fast-moving rivers and streams. For many Twin Citians a trip to the Sogn Valley Craft Fair is a chance to both shop for excellent artwork and crafts AND get away to the country--but not too far. The Fair is a lovely 45 minutes from the Twin Cities or Rochester. In early October the trees are changing colors and you might see some deer or wild turkeys on your way down. Sogn Valley Craft Fair is an intimate invitational show. Our artists are invited based on the quality of their work with an eye towards representing diverse media. You'll find a wide variety of pottery, including functional and sculptural work in raku, porcelain and stoneware, jewelery in silver, gold and beads, painting, photography, baskets, fiber weaving fabric, metalwork and more. Visitors can expect to view all of our artists' work during a morning or afternoon at the Fair. The Sogn Valley Craft Fair is free! No admission fee and no parking fee. The Fair has been supporting local and artisinal foods long since it's inception. Raw Minnesota wildflower honey, organic produce, Indian corn, pumpkins and seasonal garden items, handmade jams, relishes, caramels and more are in the mix. We feature local music. You might find a band set up in the barn or maybe strolling among the crowds. Read more at http://www.sognvalleyartfair.com/#dD5A9wFzyPkw8ifv.99 Comments are closed.
