My studio is a mess! again. Sometimes I'm the person that goes a little crazy if all the tubes of paints are not lined up just right, towels folded and stacked, cups cleaned, all boards lined up in a row, paints alphabetized (ha), keyboard and mouse perfectly arranged...I like order. I daydream about order. I hear angels singing when I'm imersed in order. I cannot keep order, especially during this BUSY season in the art world. Ok fine, even when it's not that busy I seem to abuse my oder standards. Some of those tubes of paint are lined up very nice. aaaaaaaah My dad has a sign in his shop that reads, "Empty desk, empty mind. Cluttered desk, cluttered ?" Hmmmmmmmm I'm not gonna clutter my mind with worry about this. It's all good :) Gentle Reminder:

When I walk through the garden and see the plants that grew from the TEENY TINY seeds that we buried, I'm always so surprised to see what happens. It sounds corny...but to me it's a miracle. Nature is the BEST distraction of all. There is no place I would rather be than on the water. (Not IN the water. ON the water. I don't like all the human chomping creepy lurkers IN the water...) Hiking in the woods? Serenity. We belong there. Speaking of distractions these two goofballs distract me every time we are together. All I know is that we were trying to remove dozens of frogs from the egress window (A big icky slimy job I might add) and you can see they were no help at all. Neil and I took a break from work. (Seriously. I was looking for painting inspiration. Its part of my JOB ok?) and we went pumpkin picking. It was not easy to stay on task with four of these incredible dogs lovin on us. I want a dog. No I don't. Yes I do. Who could forget? Six chickens. Yep. They lay eggs and they talk to us. We raised them from itty bitty adorable chicks! Just one more miracle in my eyes. OK. It's time to put the camera down, and paint some hens... right after I go for a quick bike ride. I've been painting, a lot. With the purchase of some new colors, crisp brushes, and unique wood sizes, came hours of inspiration. Playing outside this summer gave me some freedom and perspective that was truly needed. I'm on a roll... I frequently get requests to "paint more horses! paint more cows!" So I did. Thank you Lars for the beautiful wood scraps! I absolutely get lost in capturing nature's playful personality. Scraping paint onto wood is too much fun. Seriously how can this be my job? I see some space in these two paintings that will be great for greeting cards. I thought I sold this piece. The other day I had dinner with my daughter and saw it on her dining room shelf. Hmmmmmm. My favorite girls came to help me this summer. Awwwwwwwe.......
