Distractions are an important tool while living a creative life! When I walk through the garden and see the plants that grew from the TEENY TINY seeds that we buried, I'm always so surprised to see what happens. It sounds corny...but to me it's a miracle. Nature is the BEST distraction of all. There is no place I would rather be than on the water. (Not IN the water. ON the water. I don't like all the human chomping creepy lurkers IN the water...) Hiking in the woods? Serenity. We belong there. Speaking of distractions these two goofballs distract me every time we are together. All I know is that we were trying to remove dozens of frogs from the egress window (A big icky slimy job I might add) and you can see they were no help at all. Neil and I took a break from work. (Seriously. I was looking for painting inspiration. Its part of my JOB ok?) and we went pumpkin picking. It was not easy to stay on task with four of these incredible dogs lovin on us. I want a dog. No I don't. Yes I do. Who could forget? Six chickens. Yep. They lay eggs and they talk to us. We raised them from itty bitty adorable chicks! Just one more miracle in my eyes. OK. It's time to put the camera down, and paint some hens... right after I go for a quick bike ride.
Great post, Carla! I always say, 'The good news about plants is they WANT to grow!' Not enough people even see how rich, diverse and vibrant the plant world is.
